Wang, Xingjun, Professor, Ph.D Supervisor, Associate Dean of the School of Electronics, Peking University, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Regional Optical Fiber Communication Networks and New Optical Communication Systems, Deputy Director of the Nano Optoelectronics Frontier Science Center of the Ministry of Education, Member of the Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council, Selected as Distinguished Professor for the Ministry of Education's Major Talent Program, Chief of the Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Leader of the Key Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (twice). In the past five years, he has published more than 60 papers as the first/corresponding author in high-level journals such as Nature, Nature Photonics, Light: Science&Applications, Nature Communications, etc. He has published more than 20 papers in OFC, CLEO and other top academic conferences in the industry, with more than 2500 citations in SCI, more than 30 authorized invention patents, and more than 50 invitations to report in OFC, CLEO, OECC, ACP and other international conferences. His representative achievements were selected for the awards of 2013, 2016, 2021 ACP PDP paper, 2022 OFC PDP paper, 2022 China's Top 10 Scientific and Technological Innovations, 2022 China's Top 10 Progresses in Optics, 2022 China's Top 10 Socially Influential Events in Optics, 2022 China's Top 10 Progresses in Microchip Science, and 2022 China's Top 10 Nominees of Research Progresses in Semiconductors. Some of his achievements won the Second Prize of Natural Science of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2021. He has written two monographs as the chief editor: "Silicon-based Optoelectronic Integration Technology-Optical Waveguide Amplifiers and Lasers" and "Silicon-based Integrated Microwave Photonics Technology". He received honors such as Outstanding Teacher of Peking University, Outstanding Communist Party Member of Peking University, Teaching Excellence Award of Peking University, and Teaching Achievement Award of Peking University.
He has trained 14 Ph.D. students and 10 M.S. students, of which one was awarded the Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis of Chinese Communication Society, one was awarded the Innovative Thesis Prize (U.B.) of Optical Engineering Society of China, one was awarded the Outstanding M.S. Thesis of Chinese Society of Electronics, three were awarded the Outstanding Ph.D. and M.S. Thesis of Peking University, three were awarded the National Academic Rising Star of Microwave Photonics (5 nationally each year), and three were awarded the The "Father of Optical Wave Division Multiplexing" Li Dingyi Memorial Scholarship Nomination (10 people worldwide each year), 6 people won the National Scholarship. He has supervised 8 postdoctoral fellows, among whom 4 have been awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Fund Grants, 4 have been awarded Postdoctoral Fund Grants, 3 have been selected for the National Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, 3 have been selected for the Peking University Boya Postdoctoral Program, and 2 have been awarded the Peking University Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellowships.
